Darling Jess, the fluffiest, sweetest most-human black cat that ever lived. Thank you for being there when Ian and Katie were small. Thank you for not minding when they put you in Katies pram and wheeled up and down the garden! thank you for being there every day and being their bestest ever friend. We miss you still Jess-Baby. Even now your loss is felt. Buried in our back garden with your gravestone, we are forever reminded of how fab you truely were.
JUST THE FINEST JESS
At the Grave of a Fine Cat
May your whiskers be ruffled by only pleasant breezes,
May your bowls be filled with tuna and sweet cream,
May your dreams be blessed with legions of mice,
And most of all,
May you forever purr in peace.
Amen.

A THOUSAND TIMES WE'VE NEEDED YOU
A THOUSAND TIMES WE'VE CRIED
IF LOVE ALONE COULD HAVE SAVED YOU
YOU WOULD NEVER OF DIED
A HEART OF GOLD STOPPED BEATING
TWO TWINKLING EYES CLOSED TO REST
GOD BROKE OUR HEARTS TO PROVE HE ONLY TAKES THE BEST
NEVER A DAY GOES BY THAT YOUR NOT IN MY HEART AND SOUL.

They will not go quietly,
the pets who've shared our lives.
In subtle ways they let us know
their spirit still survives.
Old habits still can make us think
we hear them at the door
Or step back when we drop
a tasty morsel on the floor.
Our feet still go around the place
the food dish used to be,
And, sometimes, coming home at night,
we miss them terribly.
And although time may bring new friends
and a new food dish to fill,
That one place in our hearts
belongs to them...
and always will.
